After linebacker Aldon Smith’s arrest Sunday at Los Angeles International Airport, the San Francisco 49ers are now tied for the most player arrests among NFL teams since the beginning of 2014.
With Smith’s arrest for talking about bombs at the airport, the 49ers tied with the Baltimore Ravens with three player arrests each this year. Niners guard Daniel Kilgore was arrested for alleged public intoxication, and cornerback Chris Culliver has pleaded not guilty to hit-and-run charges and possession of brass knuckles.
That got us wondering which teams have worked through the most player arrests in the past five years, dating to the beginning of 2010. Spoiler alert: Neither the Niners nor Ravens rank at the very top, and the Seattle Seahawks have had to deal with more legal troubles than most NFL teams.
Check out the gallery above for a ranking of NFL teams by the number of players who have been arrested since 2010. Arrest numbers were sourced mainly from USA Today’s NFL Player Arrests database and may be incomplete due to unreported incidents or flat-out overlooked arrests.
