Local players Fortt, Redd, Pierre-Louis make NFL rosters

Despite going undrafted three months ago, Silas Redd has earned a spot on an NFL roster.

The Norwalk native survived the pre-season’s final roster cuts Saturday and will enter the season as Washington’s third-string running back.

Fellow Norwalk native and King graduate Kevin Pierre-Louis, who was drafted in the fourth round by Seattle, made the Seahawks’ final 53-man roster and enters the season as a third-string back.

Stamford native Khairi Fortt, who was drafted in the fourth round by the New Orleans Saints, also made his team’s final roster, but he has reportedly battled injury recently.

The NFL season begins Thursday night.
