Kolinsky scholarship entry details

The Connecticut Sports Writers’ Alliance will accept applications until Feb. 9, 2015, for the 12th annual Bohdan Kolinsky Memorial Sports Journalism Scholarship.
Named for a longtime scholastic sports editor of the Hartford Courant who died unexpectedly in 2003, the scholarship provides $2,000 toward the first year of college study leading to a career in sports journalism. The scholarship is renewable annually at increasing amounts if the student meets certain standards. The maximum award is $10,000 over four years.
An applicant must submit an essay, a personal biography, a letter of recommendation, published writing samples, an academic transcript and SAT or ACT scores. Full information and the application form are available at the Alliance’s Facebook site (search facebook, sports, writers, alliance).
