Fairfield fans, I’m sure, won’t forget the name Desi Washington soon. That makes Saturday’s 57-43 win over Saint Peter’s all the sweeter.
Last season, Washington made a last-second, game-winning 3-pointer in three games to knock off the Stags each time. On Saturday, the Stags held Washington to 10 points and defeated Saint Peter’s 57-43 at the Webster Bank Arena.
Washington was serving a suspension and did not play in a win for Saint Peter’s over Fairfield earlier this season.
So, Stags fans, the Desi streak is over.
