Virginia based-artist Asa Jackson drew the star power of Allan Houston and his wife, Tamara, to the opening of his first Fairfield County show and solo exhibition last week at the Samuel Owen Gallery in Greenwich.
Jackson, who is the Greenwich couple’s nephew, brought more than 40 oil, acrylic and oil pastel paintings to the Greenwich Avenue site.
Houston, a former New York Knicks player and the team’s current assistant general manager, as well as his wife, have been collecting Asa’s work for some time, according to the organizers of the show.
More than 250 people attended the opening. But, if you missed it, the show, titled “New Works,” will continue through March 22 at the gallery. Hours are Monday to Saturday, 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
