Alive@Five openers, Bandapalooza bands announced

After announcing the line-up for Alive@Five last month, Stamford Downtown Special Services District has revealed the opening acts for the annual summer concert series, along with the a list of bands and venues for its upcoming Bandapalooza contest on May 18.

The opening acts confirmed for Alive@Five are PANA! (June 21 with Los Lonely Boys), Jay Loftus (June 28 with G. Love & Special Sauce), Running Late (July 5 with Creedence Clearwater Revisited), Moon Taxi and Emergency Service (July 12 with Matisyahu), Eytan & The Embassy and My Pet Dragon (July 19 with Hot Chelle Rae), Matt Beilis and
Annie Minogue (July 26 with Javier Colon) and Matt O’Ree and Frank Viele & The Manhattan Project (Aug. 2 with Foreigner).

Bandapalooza, a city-wide battle of the bands contest, will decide the three remaining opening acts. Each of 10 bands will play at a different venue in Stamford, beginning tentatively at 8:30 p.m.

All Banged Up  — Bartaco, 222 Summer St.
Bearin’ Peace — Black Bear Saloon, 261 Main St.
Skies For Miles — Bradford’s Grill & Tavern, 83 Bedford St.
Mandated Reporters — Brick House Bar & Grill, 244 Bedford St.
Second Street Saints —  BUtterfield 8 Restaurant & Lounge, 112 Bedford St.
Woods Of Arden — Lucky Break, 268 Atlantic St.
1974 — SBC Downtown Restaurant & Brewery, 131 Summer St.
The Exposure — Station Eats, 3 Landmark Square
The Senate — Tiernan’s, 187 Main St.
Lawrence Trailer — Tigin Irish Pub, 175 Bedford St.

    Actually upon further review it seems I have forgotten about the Matt O
    Ree band. They have played Stamford numerous times. And upon checking most of these bands they are all from out of state.

    Who are these people? As a promoter with almost 20 years promoting and booking shows in Stamford, Westchester and NYC (I do it for a living) across multiple venues, with the exception of Pana, I have never heard of any of these people. They sure aren’t local or involved in the Stamford/Fairfield County Music scene.
