Superheroes swarm ComiCONN convention

From Spiderman and Batman to Wonderwoman and Princess Leia, costumed characters of all shapes and sizes swarmed the Trumbull Marriot Hotel this past weekend for ComiCONN 2012.

Billed as “a show by the fans, for the fans,” ComiCONN featured an all-star line-up of comic creators, costume players, two Batmobiles and 140 tables of exhibitors selling comics, original artwork, toys and collectibles.

ComiCONN is the brainchild of lifelong comic and genre fans Mitch Hallock and his friends Erik Yacko and Joe Stintson, owners of Alternative Universe in Milford and New Haven, and writer Jay Claus.

After taking place at the Holiday Inn in North Haven in 2010 and the Stamford Plaza Hotel in 2011 (the same day Hurricane Irene hit), the event was moved to the Marriot Hotel in Trumbull this year.
