Concerts: Rihanna, Green Day, Megadeth

An international pop superstar — and Stamford resident — will find love in Connecticut.

Fresh off her win for Best Video at the MTV Video Awards, Rihanna has announced a concert at the XL Center in Hartford on Friday, March 15. Tickets, which range from $125 to $39.50, go on sale Friday, Sept. 21, at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

Prolific punk rockers Green Day will take their “Uno! Dos! Tre!” tour to Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, Jan. 19. The concert is on sale now through Ticketmaster for $62 and $42. The band is set to release its “¡Uno! Does ¡Tré!” trilogy in three installments from September 2012 to January 2013.

Metal legends Megadeth are releasing a 20th Anniversary edition of 1992’s multi-platinum-selling “Countdown to Extinction.” To celebrate, the band will perform the double LP in its entirety on their upcoming tour, which takes them to Toyota presents Oakdale Theatre on Tuesday, Nov. 13. Tickets, which cost $47, are on sale now via Live Nation.

For all the Claymates out there, “American Idol” winner Clay Aiken will bring his Christmas special, The Joyful Noise Tour, to Stamford’s Palace Theatre on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 8 p.m. Tickets, which cost $58-$40, are on sale now via Stamford Center for the Arts.

Finally, blues and americana musician Leon Russell, who was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will perform at the Klein Auditorium in Fairfield on Thursday, Nov 8 at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale via the Fairfield Theatre Company for $77-$37.
