New Zealand rockers Six60 to perform in Fairfield

|

The band Six60 will be more than 9,000 miles from home when it lands in Fairfield, Conn., this weekend, but with more than 100,000 fans on Facebook, this New Zealand band has found fans well beyond its native country’s borders.

The five-member band is on a North American tour in support of its self-titled debut studio album that is coming out this month. Self-described as a band that blends soul, rock, dubstep and drum and bass, it largely built its success through word of mouth since forming in 2008. Its single “Forever” (see video, above) was featured during the pre-race show for the 2012 Indianapolis 500 earlier this year.

Six60 is set to perform at the Fairfield Theatre Co. stage on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012.

Having already earned double-platinum status in New Zealand, the band has been playing to sold-out crowds for several years. With its North American tour, the group hopes to pick up more fans before returning home next month.
