World Pong Tour kicks off in Brewster, N.Y.

by:

The tables are set for the next round of action in a World Pong Tour competition.

World Pong Tour will kick off a 15-city Tri-State tour at Tom and Jerry’s in Brewster, N.Y. on Wednesday, Nov. 14. ( It was previously set for Nov. 7,  but the date was changed due to the storm we are expecting.)

Originally played at frat houses and college parties with cups of beer, the game has taken on many forms, including non-alcoholic ones, in recent years, and has been featured in The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.

All of the winning teams from the 15 city tour will qualify to compete in WPT’s Tri-State championship in December, which features a $1,500 prize. The WPT requires all players to use water in the game cups and to “play responsibly.”

Each tournament is limited to 32 teams (two players per team) and the age requirement is 21 and older. Each player receives a T-shirt for signing up. To register, call 914-437-5401 or go online.
