You might think twice about skipping school after seeing this film.
“Play Hooky,” an independent horror film created by a trio of area residents, will be screened at the Darien Playhouse on Saturday, Nov. 17 after the 9:30 p.m. showing of “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.”
Written by Frank S Petrilli and Jason Chester of Stamford, and Vincent Kulish of Norwalk, the film follows a group of high school seniors who, after playing hooky, get trapped in an abandoned psychiatric facility famous for hauntings, witchcraft and demonic possession.
The film is “similar to ‘Blair Witch Project’ in genre — found film style,” Petrilli, who is also the film’s director, said in an email.
“Play Hooky” was recently made an official selection in the PollyGrind Underground Film Festival in Las Vegas.
