Storybook characters get a makeover in Greenwich

Members of the New York City-based Children’s Book Illustrators Group have taken a new look at Mother Goose in an exhibition that opens at the Flinn Gallery at the Greenwich Library, Thursday, Dec. 6, 6-8 p.m.

Timeless storybook characters are “Reimagined” in a diverse range of medis, including pen and ink, oil, collage, pastel, watercolor and acrylic.

The show, which features the works of two dozen artists, will run through Jan. 16. You can see one of the image, “Cat and Fiddle in Space,” a pen, ink and watercolor, by Mike Herrod at right.

The gallery is open Monday to Wednesday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday fom 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. For more information, visit the gallery’s website.
