Sandy Hook children’s choir headed to the Super Bowl

A Newtown children’s choir is headed to the Super Bowl.

Twenty-six students from Sandy Hook Elementary School will join singer Jennifer Hudson for a pre-game performance of “America The Beautiful,” according to a the Associated Press.

Information about the performance is expected to be released to Sandy Hook families just prior to the event.

Dave Brubeck honored by Connecticut State Senate

Dave Brubeck, the late jazz master and longtime Wilton resident, was honored by the Connecticut State Senate last week.

In a statement read aloud on the Senate floor, Sen. Teri Boucher (R-Wilton) praised Brubeck as a “celebrated music legend” and a “dearly beloved and admired citizen of the world.”

“He was a true home town and home state hero,” she added.

Brubeck  died on Dec. 5, 2012 at the age of 91, leaving behind a legacy of game-changing jazz music and lifelong community service.
