Norwalk reggae singer plays Newtown benefit

It has often been said that reggae soothes the soul.

Norwalk reggae singer Mystic Bowie and Pennsylvania band B-Tropical proved just that when they performed an impromptu benefit concert for families of victims of the Sandy Hook school shooting last month.

Appearing at Pub25 in Newtown, the musicians, who played a collection of reggae covers, raised more than $4,000. Proceeds went directly to a trust that has been set up at Newtown Savings Bank.
