R. Kelly (above) is best known for his paeans to romance, but in a recent song, the R&B singer shows love for the survivors of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary.

The song, “I Know You Are Hurting (Tribute to the Newtown, Ct. Kids),” is an inspirational tune featuring a children’s choir. “We need your love, to shower down / In our hearts, hear us now. We need some answers / I know you’re hurting, I hear you crying / But come tomorrow, there’s a place you can go,” they sing.

Kelly, who released “Write Me Back,” his eleventh studio album, last year, previously penned a song for the victims of the Virginia Tech shooting in 2007.
