New Milford flea market on PBS TV’s ‘Market Warriors’

The Elephant’s Trunk flea market in New Milford will be featured on television tonight, Jan. 21 at 9 p.m. on the PBS show “Market Warriors.”

On the latest episode of the antiques reality show, the “pickers” are challenged to find something made of metal. They find a wide array of items, from a vintage toy truck to an antique coffee grinder and more.

The Elephant’s Trunk is closed for the season now but will re-open on March 17. It is located at 490 Danbury Road in New Milford.

Connecticut bands unite for massive Newtown benefit

Connecticut bands are planning yet another concert benefit for Sandy Hook — and it’s going to be their biggest show of support yet.

The event, “Downtown Rocks For Newtown,” will feature more than 50 bands at 9 music venues across Downtown Hartford on Sunday, Jan. 27 beginning at 3 p.m.. Money raised from event will go to the Sandy Hook School Support Fund.

Tickets, which cost $30, provide access to all the participating venues throughout the day.

The event is slated to feature a bevy of Connecticut musicians: Max Creek, Bronze Radio Return, Alternate Routes, Kenny Mehler Band, The Brew, The McLovins, Caravan of Thieves, Echo & Drake, Klockwize, 1974, Little Ugly, You Scream I Scream and many many more.
