Beyonce to launch world tour, stop in Connecticut

|

Beyonce dazzled millions of TV viewers with one of the most explosive performances of her career last Sunday at Super Bowl XLVII.

But really, she was just getting warmed up.

The “Single Ladies” singer will embark on a world tour that takes her to the Mohegan Sun Arena on Aug. 2. Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 15 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster.

The North American leg of “The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour” will kick off on June 28 in Los Angeles, before wrapping up at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Aug. 3.

Beyonce has made plenty of headlines as of late, drawing controversy for lip-syncing the “Star Spangled Banner” at this year’ presidential inauguration. At a press conference two weeks later, she put the criticisms to rest after giving a rousing, spot-on performance of the national anthem.

“Any questions?” the grinning superstar said after she was through with the performance.

Beyonce reinforced her credentials with a impressive performance — complete with dancing video clones, fireworks and a Destiny’s Child reunion — at the Super Bowl. For proof, check out the video below:

I must have missed something in Beyonce’s “glorious” performance. I expected her to sing. I heard only breathy snippets of song between long dance sequences. If it was all about dancing, they could have featured Alvin Ailey Dance who do it better and are known for it. I thought the halftime entertainment was a disappointment.
