Stratford indie pop stars — and spouses — Mates of State will open for Postal Service on several dates on the latter band’s current reunion tour.

Mates of State — keyboardist/vocalist Kori Gardner and drummer/vocalist Jason Hammel — will join Postal Service for their performances at Air Canada Centre in Toronto on June 11, Bank of America Pavilion in Boston on June 12 and the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. on June 14, among other dates. Mates of State last hit the road in late December during a break in recording. The band is currently working on the follow up to their 2011 studio album, “Mountaintops.”

Originally from San Francisco, Gardner and Hammel have lived in Stratford for the last six years, where they’ve raised their young daughters, June and Magnolia.

Postal Service — the electropop trio comprised of vocalist Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie), producer Jimmy Tamborello (Dntel, Headset) and vocalist Jenny Lewis (Rilo Kiley) — reunited earlier this year to re-release their platinum-selling debut album, “Give Up,” and launch a North American tour.
