Bob Dylan, Wilco roll through Bridgeport on ‘AmericanaramA’ tour

Bob Dylan has announced a summer tour with Wilco and My Morning Jacket that rolls through the Ballpark at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport on Friday, July 19.

Pre-sale tickets ($68) for AmericanaramA, as the roots-inspired tour has been dubbed, go on sale Tuesday, April 30 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster. Regular tickets go on sale Saturday, May 4 at 10 a.m. by calling 203-210-BLUE (2583) or through Ticketmaster or the Bluefish website.

“We’re very excited,” Ken Shepard, general manager of the Bridgeport Bluefish, said in an interview Monday. “This is going to be a great opportunity for the area, a great opportunity for the city of Bridgeport and a great opportunity for the Bluefish. We’re over the moon about it.”

Dylan, who is currently on tour promoting “Tempest,” his 35th studio album, last appeared in Bridgeport on Sept. 30, 2007 during a stop on his Never Ending Tour. The show, a triple bill with Elvis Costello and Amos Lee, took place just next door to the Ballpark at the Webster Bank Arena (then called the Arena at Harbor Yard).

AmericanaramA kicks off in West Palm Beach, Fla., on June 26 and wraps up in Mountain View, Calif., on Aug. 4, placing the Bridgeport stop roughly midway through the tour. Wilco is set to join Dylan on all 26 dates of the tour while My Morning Jacket is slated to appear at all but one (singer Jim James, who is already scheduled to play a solo set at the Newport Folk Festival, will cause his band to miss the July 27 show in Tampa Bay, Fla.).

Presale looks to be on 5/1 according to MMJ Fan Club. Still unsure which website has the tickets since there’s no info on Bluefish or Ticketmaster yet. Great Wilco and MMJ YouTube clips though to gauge interest for people wondering who these support acts are. Stoked for this show!

Tickets for this show are not on sale as this article has indicated. Any ideas when they will be available?
