Song by Norwalk band Edisun to play on MTV’s “The Challenge”

As was entirely predictable, things have gotten pretty out of hand on MTV’s “The Challenge: Rivals II” — a reality show that pits enemy alongside enemy in a series of bizarre contests.

And what better way to soundtrack the drama between longtime adversaries, ex-lovers and new and old players than with a shredding rock song?

“To Die For,” a track by Norwalk band Edisun, is set to play during an episode of the program on Wednesday, July 17 at 10 p.m. Listen to it here.

“The Challenge: Rivals II” pairs past cast members of “Real World” and “Rivals” together for a chance to win big money. The catch? Arch enemies have to work together.

“It’s one of those tunes that has a lot of anger and angst,” guitarist Joel Kelly said in an interview Wednesday. “It works well with the show.”

“To Die For” is taken from the band’s self-titled debut album, which has produced several singles that have reached the top 50 of the Billboard Modern Rock chart — “Medicate,” “Wide Awake” and “To Die For.”

Edisun is currently working on a new album at the Factory Underground in Norwalk, the band’s home base. It is due out in February.
