John Mayer to play homecoming concert in Bridgeport

John Mayer is coming back to where he was born and raised.

The Bridgeport-born musician and longtime Fairfield resident performs a hometown show at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport on Monday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m.

Ticket’s for the stop on the singer’s “Born and Raised” tour go on sale Friday, Sept. 13 via Ticketmaster or by calling 800-745-3000.

The announcement comes on the heels of the release of “Paradise Valley” (Columbia), Mayer’s sixth studio album. It features the singles”Paper Doll” and “Wildfire” (with frequent Mayer collaborator Frank Ocean), and the Katy Perry duet “Who You Love.”

Mayer is currently mounting his first major concert tour in three years following an extended hiatus brought on by throat issues. The Dec. 16 show will be his first in Bridgeport since 2004.
