Darien’s Topher Grace stars with Sarah Silverman and Patti LuPone in new HBO comedy

Topher Grace is returning to television for the first time since “That 70s Show.”

The longtime Darien resident is starring alongside Sarah Silverman and Patti Lupone in HBO’s new comedy pilot “People In New Jersey.”

Lorne Michaels is executive producing the show, which revolves around two adult siblings (Grace and Silverman) who refuse to grow up and their the mother (Lupone) who worries about why neither of them have gotten married and given her grandchildren.

Bruce Eric Kaplan (“Girls,” “Six Feet Under”), will pen the script and executive produce alongside Michaels and Andrew Singer. Paul Feig (“Bridesmaids”) will direct.

“People In New Jersey” marks Grace’s return to TV following big screen roles in “Spider-Man 3,” “The Big Wedding” and “Valentine’s Day.” He made his last appearance on “That 70s Show” in 2006.
