Sendak’s ‘Wild Things’ on view in New Britain Museum exhibition

|

Have a wild rumpus this weekend with a visit to the New Britian Museum of American Art.

The museum, at 56 Lexington Street, opens an exhibition of the work of world-famous children’s author and late Danbury resident Maurice Sendak on Saturday, Nov. 9.

The exhibit, “Maurice Sendak,” will highlight images from Sendak’s masterwork, “Where the Wild Things Are.”

On view through February 2014, the exhibition features drawings — rough sketches, cels, storyboards, fan drawings — of Wild Things in all their different forms, Wild Things murals and a continuous screening of the 2009 film “Where the Wild Things Are.”

Kids are encouraged to draw their own Wild Things on a massive chalk board.
