Stamford’s Lorca cafe to host monthly book club

What goes better with a great cup of coffee than a great book?

Lorca — Downtown Stamford’s purveyor of delicious drip brewed coffee and chocolate dipped churros — is hosting a book club, Books N Brews, very second Monday of the month, 6-7 p.m., beginning in December.

There will be an information session for the book club on Monday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. The first book on the menu is “Let the Great World Spin: A Novel” by Colum McCann.

“It’s a fun way to build community in Stamford,” said Lorca’s manager, Emily Simons. “Reading, community and coffee — it’s a great combination.”

Here’s more info from the club’s Meet Up page:

Join your fellow literary nerds (slash future friends) for a whole latte love in ‘The City That Works.’ Each month, we’ll pick a new book—fiction, nonfiction, graphic novel, anything goes—to get our thoughts a-brewing and espresso some opinions over a warm cup of joe (or tea, of course). We’ve all bean looking for something like this, write? So, let’s all get on the same page, stir the pot, and make the Stamford community a bit stronger! *Yes, we do enjoy a good pun.
