Stephanie Seymour is making headlines again, but mercifully, it has nothing to do with Peter Brant.
The Greenwich supermodel has been tapped by Estée Lauder to star in their new campaign, which will be unveiled this fall.
The cosmetics giant made the announcement via Twitter, posting a black-and-white photo of the stunning 45-year-old Seymour dressed in a silky black gown.
“I am honored to be part of the Estée Lauder family,” Seymour said in a statement. “As a young girl, my mother had a dream for me and that was to be an Estée Lauder model! So this is truly a dream fulfilled.”
Seymour still garners the same kind of attention that a cross-dressing Bugs Bunny got from Elmer Fudd, but it wasn’t only for her beauty that she was chosen for the Estée gig.
“Stephanie represents modern women today in such a beautifully articulated way and she represents modern beauty and luxury to us,” the company told Women’s Wear Daily recently. “This campaign will speak to the beautiful complexity that makes her who she is.”
Over the years, Seymour has posed for Chanel, Versace and Marc Jacobs, and appeared on the covers of Sports Illustrated, Cosmopolitan and Vogue. She most recently modeled for Jason Wu’s spring 2013 collection.
Seymour was all over the news in 2010 when she and Brant, with whom she has been married since 1995, broke up and then reconciled. They live on a 200-acre farm in backcountry Greenwich.
