Katherine Heigl is making her return to television this year, starring on NBC’s new fall drama, “State of Affairs.”
The actress and New Canaan native will play Charleston Tucker, a CIA agent bent on revenge after her fiance, the son of U.S. President Constance Payton (played by actress Alfre Woodard), is killed in a terrorist attack.

“State of Affairs” marks Heigl’s first TV appearance since leaving “Grey’s Anatomy” in 2010.
The show will take the place of “The Blacklist” on Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT starting on Nov. 17.
