After undergoing two months of renovations, owners of Bridgeport’s Acoustic Cafe hosted a soft opening to showcase the venue’s expanded stage, upgraded sound and lighting systems and sleek, new design.
Acoustic’s first show in seven weeks featured performances from reggae bands Rootz Underground, of Jamaica, and Bridgeport’s own I Anbassa on Thursday. On Friday, Aug. 22, there will be a duel CD release show for Connecticut hip hop artists Lil Mattress and Raiza Rapz.
Here’s more information about the renovations, via Acoustic Cafe’s Facebook page:
Our goal is to keep the things people love about the room today (professionally mixed sound, comfortable vibe, delicious drinks and affordable prices) and make the experience even better for both our artists and their guests.
When we’re done, there won’t be a bad seat in the house, with better sight lines and a stage that can handle more complex band setups. So in addition to offering a better experience to the musicians who already love performing here, we’ll be able to reach out and bring in bigger regional and national acts as well.
There’s no word yet on an official opening. Check the Acoustic Cafe’s website for further updates and upcoming shows.
