Voice actor and New Haven native Nolan North (above) is back as globetrotting treasure hunter Nathan Drake in the upcoming video game Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.

The game’s developer, Naughty Dog, Inc., set out to blur the line between movies and video games, so North and his co-stars donned motion-capture suits and performed the scenes from the game in front of sophisticated computer cameras — think Andy Serkis as the menacing Gollum in The Lord of the Rings. The result is a video game with distinctively realistic and sympathetic characters. Full of plane crashes, sandstorms, horse chases, and the series’ distinctive humor, Uncharted 3 looks like a thrilling way to kick off the holiday season.

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception hits the Playstation 3 this Tuesday, Nov. 1.
