In the beginning…

It is sometimes difficult to believe that the Web site is still in its infancy.

Just consider when these popular Web sites took their first steps:

EDITOR’S NOTE: I apologize my absense over the last month.  This blog is essentially being relaunched as a lighter entity with an increased number of interesting and off-beat updates.  I hope you enjoy it.

Jamie DeLoma

Jamie DeLoma is both an experienced journalist and a computer nerd. He joined the Connecticut Post in August, 1998 and has been involved in every facet of editorial content. He is the vice president of communications and a former president of the Connecticut Professional Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Jamie is also a part-time A1 copy editor and page designer for Hearst Connecticut newspapers. He is an avid tweeter, Facebook user and general news junkie. He is also the assistant director of public relations and social media at Quinnipiac University where he is completing a master's degree in the interactive communications program.

1. The only thing that stinks about the Telegraph’s article is you can see they were using archive.org for their examples, and not all the images loaded in all of the examples. Flickr didn’t look like that for instance; you can see how it says “example image” where images didn’t load.

   Some of the examples are really cool though; I used to have a homepage on Geocities when that was the thing, and that site looked really funky back in the day. There’s some wild examples in archive.org as well
