Bill Dyson Gets Big Sendoff

Friday February 20, 2009

Last night about 1,000 people turned out at the Aqua Turf catering facility in Southington to honor Bill Dyson, the former longest-serving member of the state House of Representatives. The bipartisan group, whose dinner raised money for charity, included a surprise appearance by Gov. Jodi Rell. U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd, under the gun for being a “Friend of Angelo” at Countrywide Loans and a recipient of $27,500 in campaign funds from R. Allen Stanford, the allegedly fraudulent Texas banker, made a joke about Rell having the highest approval rating in the state while his is the lowest, according to people in attendance.
John “Why Should I Resign If I’ve Done Nothing Wrong?” Rowland, the felonious former governor, was also there.
