It’s snowing hard in SW CT and the Blogster has just parked the dog sled in the garage at the Holiday Inn in Stamford to cover the Business Council of Fairfield County’s gubernatorial forum. Looks like about 18 tables for 10 have been set up in a ballroom as I type here in a corner. It’s 6:45, well before the 8 a.m. start and I’m the only soul here as I eye one of the big pitchers of OJ. Fortunately for the CTN employees making the video, their bosses at the propaganda arm of the General Assembly paid for their overnight stay in the hotel.

Point of clarification, Ken. The Business Council graciously agreed to pay for the CT-N crew’s accomodations in order to facilitate our coverage of the forum. As the operation is Hartford-based, the overtime and wear-and-tear on the crew in the middle of the legislative session to arrive in Stamford in time to set up given the weather forcast would have been prohbitive, and BCFC really wanted CT-N to cover the event. Our independent nonprofit company that manages the network for the legislature takes its fiduciary responsibility seriously and we did not devote any state money whatsoever to the hotel expense. Hope that clears it up.

Don’t imagine there will be too many attendees this morning. Kind of like a session at the house of representatives, it will be a TV camera event with no one in the audience. Enjoy the OJ.
