Women in Connecticut History Program for School Kids at Old State House

Did you know that Hannah Watson was a Connecticut publisher during the American Revolution? Did you know that it is the 90th anniversary of women’s suffrage? Well it sounds like you’re a candidate to celebrate Women’s History Month in the Old State House. Or better yet, bring your child to represent the next generation of state residents, to a program on Wednesday, March 31, from 10 until noon. For five bucks a kid, they can meet actors portraying those women and others in their period costumes. The program, which is aimed at kids in the third through sixth grade, is set to coincide with spring break. Pre-registration is suggested for the program, which includes crafts and activities. Call the Old State House at 960-522-6766, extension 11 to sign up. Or you can visit the history site at 800 Main Street in Hartford or click on www.ctoldstatehouse.org.
