Regrets? Dick Blumenthal Has a Few. But No Apologies. He’s Doing it His Way.

The Blogster prefers the Sex Pistols version of “My Way,” rather than the Chairman of the Board’s. Either way, Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, given a chance to apologize for his “misstatements” in which he claimed to have gotten to Vietnam with the Marines, didn’t during his news conference in West Hartford. The former Marine Corps Reserves sergeant admitted to the lower-echelon “regret” the remarks caught on tape and bannered in today’s New York Times. Blumenthal also would “take full responsibility” for them as if anyone else would, besides Linda McMahon’s ill-advised admission that her camp fed the tapes to the Times. So he’s got that going for him with three days before the gubernatorial convention.
