The Blogster believes that Republican Tom Foley is going to have to write more checks very soon for the gubernatorial end game against Democrat Dannel Malloy, whose State Elections Enforcement Commission filing yesterday showed him with $4.5 on hand. Foley has only $197,856 in the filing on-line today with the SEEC. He has raised a total of $6.5 million, including loans the mutli-millionaire private investor has given to the campaign totaling $5.3 million. According to the filing for last month, Foley wrote the campaign a $500,000 check on September 21; a $315,000 check on the 23rd and a $485,000 check on the 29th.
Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, Foley’s running mate, wrote Foley a check for $250.
