Republican State Central Committee Chairman Chris Healy this afternoon is filing a complaint with the State Elections Enforcement Commission over 250 absentee-ballot applications that he traced back to an empty lot on North Avenue.

“Republicans believe as many people who can legally vote should on November 2nd,” Healy said in a statement. “Those who think they can vote early and often should think twice about trying to abuse this sacred privilege.”

Healy’s complaint claims that two people who identified themselves as Sam Adoino and Sammy Adoino, Jr. took out ballot applications from the Bridgeport City Clerk’s under the address of 1238 North Avenue, which is a vacant lot. “This is an important election and we must ensure that those who are legally entitled to cast their ballots can do so,” said Healy. “Local election officials must be on guard at all times to make sure that our system is legitimate and the results reflect an honest voter operation.”
