Labor Commish testifies in favor of “paid” sick leave

Glenn Marshall of Milford, acting state labor commissioner, is fulfilling one of Gov. Dannel Malloy’s campaign promises, testifying in favor of legislation that would require employers of 50 or more people to provide a minimum of one hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked.

“This is my first day on the job and I haven’t worked long enough to get any time off,” the career carpenrter joked to the legisaltive Labor and Public Employees Committee after reading his statement.
