Finch, back in the Capitol with CCM, calls Malloy’s budget “best ever.”

Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch was among members of the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities who told the legislative Appropriations Committee that Gov. Dannel Malloy’s budget is about as good as cities can expect. “I’ve seen the other options over the last 20 years, where we started out by targeting the revenue of the municipalities and hospitals. They were the big recipients and always had the target on their back. There’s always things in the budget that I wish were different. I was faced with two $21-million budget deficits in a row. This budget hits me about $700,000. I am going to lose other revenue. I’m going to lose federal revenue. I’m going to lose property-tax revenue.”
