It may have passed the Planning and Development Committee 20-0, but the Environment Committee just killed a bill that would have raised the fine, from the current $90 up to $180, for driving a snowmobile or all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on land without the permission of the owner or state or local municipality. The committee determined that for the additional $7,200 a year in revenue, half of which would be shared with towns and cities, it….just…wasn’t…worth…. it.
