It will be ‘official’ tomorrow, when Linda McMahon’s Senate campaign II kicks off in Southington

The 62-year-old former wrestling executive from Greenwich has selected the Coil Pro Machinery Co. in Southington as the site where she’ll announce for the Senate seat that will be vacated by US Sen. Joe Lieberman. After the announcement, which will likely focus on the issue of “jobs,” the Republican is offering brief, 15-minute one on ones with reporters, possibly as a way to avoid a scrum and questions for which she might not be prepared. During the 2010 race against Dick Blumenthal, McMahon got within 3 points in the polls, but lost by double figures after she misspoke against the state’s minimum wage. She spent about $50 million of her own money back then. Reports of her imminent 2012 candidacy have been kicking around for months, but this will make it official.
