Paranoia? Just because the Republicans are hunting rats today doesn’t mean the Democrats aren’t out to obfuscate come election time

One of the many furry creatures in the two huge pieces of legislation about to pass the House and Senate, is a provision allowing a month-long delay in the reporting of consensus state-revenue figures. On its face, the delay is no big deal. Except pushing the reporting date from October 14 to November 10 kinda takes a potential late-breaking election issue away from Republicans, doesn’t it? Especially if the revenue stream continues to sputter. House Minority Leader Larry Cafero and Senate Minority Leader John McKinney pointed out this calendar change this afternoon.
