“In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will speak at the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education and the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents convention in Groton, where he will make a major education announcement.  The conference will be attended by approximately 500 board of education members, superintendents of schools and other education leaders from across Connecticut.

Following that, Governor Malloy will speak at the Connecticut Farm Bureau’s annual meeting in Glastonbury, where he will discuss his vision for the future of agriculture and his support of the state’s farming community.

Later, Governor Malloy will meet with representatives from the COMPASS Youth Collaborative in Hartford for an opportunity to tour the site and discuss urban and youth violence prevention initiatives the organization has been undertaking through its Peacebuilders program.  The organization, which offers positive youth development programs that enhance students’ academic success, recently received a state grant under a youth violence prevention initiative.

In the evening, Governor Malloy will make remarks at the Connecticut Citizen Action Group’s 2013 Auction and Nancy Benedict Social Justice Award ceremony in West Hartford.
