Dan’s Day: Five stops around the state is a re-election pace for an unannounced candidate. Will swear in new Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling

If you don’t think Gov. Dannel P. Malloy will run for re-election, consider his around-the-state schedule today. Here’s the release from his Capitol office:

“On Tuesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will make remarks at the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence’s “First 100 Plus” 3rd annual breakfast in Cromwell.  The event honors men from around the state who are working to improve the lives of domestic violence survivors.  Governor Malloy was honored at the event in 2011. Following that, Governor Malloy will give opening remarks at the Child and Family Agency of Southeastern Connecticut’s 41st annual meeting in New London. Later, Governor Malloy will join the Operating Engineers Local 478 for a news conference in Meriden to highlight the steps they are taking to train operating engineers in the area of natural gas transmission and distribution pipeline construction.  The expansion of the natural gas system is part of the Governor’s Comprehensive Energy Strategy that was approved during the 2013 legislative session.  The new law will create construction jobs during the next ten years while providing new energy alternatives to thousands of Connecticut residents, businesses and municipalities.  In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will administer the oath of office to the City of Norwalk’s new mayor, Harry Rilling. In the evening, Governor Malloy will make remarks at the State Department of Education’s Connecticut Teacher of the Year ceremony in Hartford, where teachers from throughout the state will be recognized for their commitment to excellence in teaching.”
