Children’s policy subject of Capitol news conference this morning

State Rep. Kim Fawcett, D-Fairfield and other lawmakers this morning will commemorate the United Nations’ Universal Children’s Day along with domestic and international leaders on children’s issues. They will discuss how Connecticut can help state children through policy and service initiatives.  Jeanne Aimee De Marrais, senior director for U.S. emergencies for Westport-based Save the Children  will discuss lessons that the relief organization has learned. Meg Gardinier, national chair for the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child will talk about how states can use the organization as a tool.
