Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, in Bridgeport, has just recommended raising the $8.70 minimum wage, which jumped from $8.25 an hour on January first and for which a second increase to $9.00 is scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2015. Malloy just called for a change to bring it to $9.15 on January 1, 2015, a 45-cent increase to $9.60 beginning January 1, 2016, followed by a 50-cent increase to $10.10 effective January 1, 2017.
