Ag commissioner wants tighter rules on “Connecticut Grown” label

Today, with snow obscuring the view of your garden, is a good one to look ahead to the summer. Ah… Yep, it’s July and the farmer’s markets are in full swing. Under legislation supported today by Commissioner of Agriculture Steven K. Reviczky, farmers portraying their produce, fish or shellfish as Connecticut Grown will have to label the stuff. Oh yeah, those June tomatoes should be avoided too, unless you know them personally.
