Gov Malloy, fresh off the national stage, takes his comments on jobs and the minimum wage to the belly of the (Bridgeport) beast

danmay9The governor is the featured speaker today at the Bridgeport Regional Business Council’s 2014 Capitol Luncheon.  The council, made up of business folks from the Bridgeport, Stratford and Trumbull Chambers of Commerce, the Bridgeport Economic Development Corporation, Leadership Greater Bridgeport, and the Women’s Leadership Council, is scheduled to hear the governor’s rationale for  a proposed increase in the state’s minimum wage; and his prognosis for small businesses in the state. The luncheon begins at noon in the Holiday Inn on Main Street in Bridgeport. Yesterday, during one of the final events of the National Governors Association weekend confab in Washington, Malloy and Republican Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal sparred before reporters on the minimum wage, with Jindal eventually defaulting to criticism of President Obama’s Affordable Care Act.
