Last year, Speaker of the House Brenda Sharkey stripped first-term Rep. Christina Ayala from all of her committee assignments after she was involved in a fight in Bridgeport. But there she was voting today in favor of the $19-billion Democratic budget on the Appropriations Committee. 
Here is Sharkey’s statement:
“We’ve been monitoring the investigation by the State’s Attorney’s office, and given that there has been no news forthcoming, I didn’t think it was fair to deny her constituents full representation any longer. So effective today, I have reinstated Rep. Ayala to her committees.”
