Gov Malloy encourages Ted Kennedy Jr to run for state Senate seat for Guilford

Sen. Ed Meyer, D-Guilford, is retiring and has made it plain that he would like Edward M. Kennedy Jr., a constituent of his, to run for the office. So can Gov. Dan Malloy seal the deal? Malloy was asked today if he has had a role in the recruitment. “Yes,” he said. “I had a nice discussion with ted the other day. I think it was on Tuesday. We missed each other Monday. I had a nice conversation with him. He made it clear that he’s giving it consideration.  I urged him to give it consideration. I’ve gotten to know him and Kiki over the last really eight years and think very highly of him. He’d be a great addition to the Legislature if he decided to run for the Senate and I hope he does. I absolutely hope he does.”
