Garden gnomes kills off GMO grass-seed bill

Senate President Pro Tempore Don Williams didn’t get a whole lot of love in the House today, when a wild assemblage of Republicans and Democrats voted to kill his pet bill that would have banned genetically engineered grass seed that’s being developed by Scotts Miracle-Gro Co. of Marysville, Ohio. So where shall we start? Democrats who voted against it included Reps. Christina Ayala, Terry Baker, Don Celmons, Gerry Fox, Auden Grogins and Patricia Billie Miller. Republicans who voted for it included Reps. Tony Hwang, and Gail Lavielle. After the 25-11 Senate victory, the garden gnomes killed the bill 103-37 in the House.
