Proposed state-administered retirement program will get roasted by Republicans, business execs, this morning

mckinneyJust in time for its arrival on the Senate “go” list, where it was passed temporarily last night, Republican opposition to a proposed retirement-account program for all state residents will crystalize later this morning. Senate Bill 249, would also require state employers to enroll their employees in the program and withhold as much as 5% of gross income if the employer does not offer a comparable alternative. State Senate Minority Leader John McKinney, R-Fairfield, will join fellow lawmakers and business executives at 11:30 McKinney’s Capitol office.
